| Sir James McDonald,
K.B.E., was
born in Renfrew, Scotland in 1899. He served in the
Royal Flying Corps. (later known as the Royal Air Force) from July 1917 to May 1919.
Sir James saw service as an observer gunner in Squadron 22 (Bristol
Fighters). He came to the U.S. in the early 1920's and was
appointed British Consul for Oregon in 1938.
Sir James McDonald received the C.B.E. in 1956
and the O.B.E. in 1948 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1967. He
died in 1989.
